Bake for Profit

This is the story of Makhosi Khoza, who enrolled with Bake for profit training in partnership with Snowflake from September – November 2017

“On the 12 September 2017 I started to attend the Bake for Profit Course through the Ethembeni Organisation which is one of Learn to Earn’s Bake for Profit partners. It is here where I started with business and life skills and where they taught me other skills that help me to run my small business successfully. It has taught me how to investigate business, target customers and suppliers. I also learnt how to write a business plan, and they taught me to bake different types of recipes and to sell my product and save money for working capital, the importance of keeping stock on safe side of the cupboard and lock.

Since I started the course, I managed to save in order to carry on with the business even when the course had finished. Now I have customers daily at school, at the clinic and my neighbours, and I manage to pay myself a salary of R150.00 a week. I’m also planning to hire two people as sales people.

I would like to thank Ethembeni organisation in Kwazulu Natal & Snowflake for the contribution to our community especially, Mrs Lihle Mavuso and Esme who taught me with patience and love- thank you. Also I thank all Ethembeni staff for supporting the business by buying our products.”
