Preparation Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

For the Flapjacks:

500g Snowflake Easy Mix Flapjacks

2 eggs

30ml cooking oil

500ml milk

30ml cooking oil or butter for frying

Heart-shaped cookie cutter (metal)

Method

    For the Flapjacks:

  • Lightly beat the eggs, oil, and milk together. Add to the Easymix and whisk until the batter is smooth with no lumps. The batter should be thick.
  • Allow the mixture to stand for 30 minutes before use. Alternatively, the batter can stand overnight in the fridge.
  • Lightly oil and heat a frying pan over medium heat.
  • To shape the flapjacks into hearts: Grease a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and place the cutter in the heated frying pan. Spoon the batter into the cutter to form the heart shape. Wait for the edges to set, then remove the cutter gently.
  • Fry the flapjacks until bubbles form on the surface and the bottom turns golden brown.
  • Carefully flip the flapjacks over and fry the other side until cooked through and golden brown.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter, re-oiling the pan as needed.
  • Serve the heart-shaped flapjacks warm, topped with fresh fruit, syrup, icing sugar, fruit jam, or mom and dad’s favourite spread!
