500ml (280 g) Snowflake cake flour

15ml Snowflake baking powder

2ml salt

2ml ground cinnamon

125ml (20 g) Snowflake Wheat bran

10ml grated orange rind

1  Beaten egg for glazing

Method

  • Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together. Add digestive bran, orange rind, sugar and marmalade.
  • Whisk milk and oil together. Gradually add to dry ingredients and mix lightly to a soft dough. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface and press into one round scone of about 15 cm in diameter and 2.5 cm thick.
  • Place onto greased baking tray. Mark into eight wedges by cutting lightly into dough and brush with beaten egg and milk. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 25 - 30 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve warm with butter.
