Cheesy balls

 



Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Serves: Makes: 12

Easy to make golden-brown balls – ideal to nibble on as a snack.

Ingredients

250ml Snowflake Self-Raising Wheat Flour

2ml salt

5ml paprika

1  egg

125ml milk

10ml chopped fresh mixed herbs or 3ml dried

125g cheddar cheese or mozzarella, coarsely chopped

750ml Cooking oil for deep-frying

1ml Extra paprika for sprinkling

Method

  • Sift flour, salt and paprika together. Whisk egg, milk, herbs and pepper together.
  • Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Add cheese.
  • Heat oil in a small, heavy-based saucepan. Gently drop heaped tablespoonfuls of mixture into hot oil. Turn constantly and deep-fry until done and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with extra paprika and serve immediately.
