Chocolate sauce

 



Preparation Time: 1 Minute

Cook Time: 5 Minutes

Serves: Makes about 500 ml

Serve with baked puddings.

Ingredients

375ml (300g) sugar

45ml butter or margarine

120g dark or milk chocolate, coarsely chopped

250ml fresh cream

5ml vanilla essence

Method

  • Combine sugar, butter, chocolate and cream in a small, heavy-based saucepan. Heat over low heat until sugar has dissolved and chocolate has melted. Simmer for a few minutes, without stirring.
  • Remove from heat and add essence. Serve warm.
