Creations Chocolate Cake

 



Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: about 30 minutes

Serves: makes one double layer cake (about 20 slices)

Every slice of our rich and decadent chocolate cake is moist, fluffy and light. Perfect for every occasion.

Ingredients

For the cake

3  extra large eggs

100ml cooking oil

250ml milk

500g Snowflake Creations Chocolate Cake Mix

For the icing

150g butter/baking margarine, softened

300g chocolate flavoured icing mix

30ml milk

Method

  • First bake the cake...
  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Beat eggs, oil and milk with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds until mixture is a light creamy colour, then add the cake mix
  • Beat batter with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds on slow speed until incorporated, then about 4 minutes on high speed
  • Pour batter into two greased 20 cm round cake tins and bake for about 30 minutes
  • Cool completely before icing
  • ... then make the icing
  • Beat softened butter/baking margarine with an electric mixer for about 1 minute on high speed until creamy
  • Add icing mix to butter/baking margarine and mix on slow speed until it resembles breadcrumbs
  • Add the milk and mix for about 2 minutes on high speed until creamy
  • Ice one layer of the cake, then add the second layer of cake and ice the surface
