Ginger filling

 



Preparation Time: 3 Minutes

Cook Time: 5 Minutes

Serves: Fills 1 Flan

A scrumptious filling for a flan recipe.

Ingredients

250ml water

250ml golden syrup

45ml custard powder

2ml ground ginger

15ml fresh cream, whipped

Method

  • Bring 200 ml water and the syrup to the boil in a small, heavy-based saucepan. Dissolve custard powder in the remaining water.
  • Pour a little of the warm syrup into the custard powder mixture and mix well. Add ginger and pour mixture back into saucepan, stirring constantly. Boil for about 3 minutes or until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and leave to cool slightly.
  • Spoon into flan and refrigerate until set. Decorate with whipped cream.
