30ml cooking oil

500g lean beef mince

1  medium onion, coarsely chopped

2  cloves garlic, crushed

2  carrots, peeled and grated

200ml fruit chutney

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Dough

500g Snowflake Easymix scone

125ml cooking oil

100ml milk

2  extra-large eggs

15ml beaten egg and milk for glazing

Sesame seeds for sprinkling

Method

  • Filling: Heat oil in a medium, heavy-based saucepan and fry mince until colour changes. Add onion, garlic and carrots and sauté for a few minutes until soft. Add chutney and seasoning and set aside to cool.
  • Dough: Place premix into a mixing bowl. Lightly beat eggs, oil and milk together. Add to premix and mix with a spoon to a soft dough. Do not over-mix.
  • Flatten or roll out dough onto a lightly floured surface, into a rectangular shape of about 20 x 30 cm and 1.2 cm thick. Spread filling on top.
  • Starting from the long side, roll up tightly and place onto a greased baking tray. Cut a few incisions into top of roll. Brush with beaten egg and milk and sprinkle sesame seeds over.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 35 - 40 minutes or until golden brown.
