Muesli slices with chocolate topping

 



Preparation Time: 15 Minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Serves: Makes about 24

A breakfast cheat meal.

Ingredients

80ml (45 g) Snowflake cake flour

30ml cocoa powder

250ml (120 g) muesli

250ml (80 g) rolled oats

250ml (80 g) desiccated coconut

80ml (65 g) light brown sugar

30ml sesame seeds (optional)

60ml honey

125g butter or margarine, melted

Chocolate topping

500ml (250 g) icing sugar

30ml cocoa powder

60ml lukewarm water

Method

  • Sift flour and cocoa powder together. Add muesli, oats, coconut, sugar and sesame seeds and mix well.
  • Combine honey and melted butter and add to dry ingredients. Mix well.
  • Press mixture into a greased pan of about 18 x 27 cm. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 20 minutes. Leave to cool in pan.
  • Topping: Sift icing sugar and cocoa powder together. Add enough water to mix to a smooth, spreadable consistency. Spread over muesli layer and cut into slices.
